|
IANA has allocated 39/8 and 106/8 to APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the Asia Pacific region. This event triggers a longly anticipated day by the global Internet community when based on the “Global Policy for the Allocation of the remaining IPv4 Address Space” That states: “ During this phase IANA will automatically allocate the reserved IPv4 allocation units to each RIR (one /8 to each one) and respond to the last request with the remaining available allocation units at the IANA pool ” IANA will be allocating one /8 to each RIR. We expect IANA to allocate these final /8s within the next few days.
