Leading Internet players from across Africa will meet at ICANN to discuss IPv6 deployment and the initiatives being taken in the African region. As part of a panel discussion, chaired by Adiel Akplogan, CEO of AfriNIC, it will focus on three key areas:
The sharing of IPv6 knowledge and skills is vital for Africa to build an Internet infrastructure for the future; a vital component helping secure a platform from stable economical growth in the region. The panel, which will take place on 27th October, 2011 will include Doudou Gaye from the Government of Senegal, Trilok Dabeesing from ICTA Mauritius, Mark Elkins Board Member at AfriNIC and Modou Sall from Sonotel. Decision makers from the technical community, governments, telecommunications regulators and network operators are encouraged to attend the event and take part in the discussion. As sponsors, AfriNIC will also have a booth at the meeting where further information on IPv6 deployment and training in the region will be available.
