| ::: The Policy Development Working Group (PDWG)

Introduction:
The PDWG is composed of anyone who either in person or through the Internet, participates in discussing policy proposals through the resources policy development (RPD) mailing list or at a public policy meeting (PPM).
The PDWG Chairs
The PDWG has two chairs who are responsible for carrying the administrative functions of the group. They are chosen by the community during public policy meetings and server staggered two year terms.
When the current policy development policy was ratified by the AfriNIC board in November 2009, the board appointed an Interim PDWG (which was confirmed by the community) to run the policy proceedings at AfriNIC-13 till AfriNIC-14 where elections were held. The interim PDWG currently has the following composition.

Roles and Responsibilities of the PDWG Chairs
These are defined in the current PDP and include;
- Determining whether there is consensus during open policy discussions.
- Publish minutes of the proceedings of public policy meetings.
- Initiate and terminate final review of proposals (Last Call)
- Send a report of the outcomes of policy discussions at public policy meetings to the Board of Directors.
